F. Chopin - Revolutionaire etude

Written by

Frederic Chopin - Revolutionaire etude Opus 10 no.12

This etude is one of Chopin’s most recognized pieces.  It was composed in 1831, the same year when Poland’s failed revolt against the Russian Empire. Chopin seems to have composed this etude as a response to this revolt.

It is a very tempestuous, intense and dramatic piece.  It was dedicated to Chopin’s friend, the famous composer Franz Liszt.

This piece has been used in many different occasions for TV and Movies.  See if you can recognize this tune (and other Chopin’s pieces) in this episode of Tom and Jerry.
