Part 1: Summer Schedule Planning
Hello and thank you for taking a moment to complete the Planning Form. For starters, please let us know what you'd like to do at CMC Atlanta during this Summer Term (June-July). We offer:
- Private Studio Lessons
- Saturday Morning Music School
- Music Day Camp for Kids, half or full day options
- and of course, any combination of these programs you'd like.
From experience, we know it is in a student's best interest to continue musical studies during the summer months, and honestly, it's helpful for the teachers, too. Summer schedules give us a chance to dig in and do some things that tight schedules during the rest of the year often don't.
We offer a great deal of flexibility in the summer in order to accommodate other family plans for the season. For example, students can sign up for 4, 6, or 8 private lessons during our Summer Term. The lessons can be scheduled at a set weekly time or on a more flexile schedule the weeks the student is in town and available to meet. We can also cluster lessons, with two three or more sessions in a week. Such intensive grouping pf meetings offers some specific pedagogical benefits to learners of any age. If you opt for Saturday Music School, which is. a lot like AMP, just on Saturday instead, you can choose the number of weeks and the specific dates the student will attend. We'll bill you accordingly. Likewise with our Day Camp for Kids (rising K-5) and Performance & Production Workshops (grades rising 6 and up), you can pick which weeks or even which days you'd like your student to attend, and the schedule can be full day, half day morning, or half day afternoon. We also offer a cyclical enrollment option, which means you could come to CMC Atlanta camp or workshop on a fixed weekly schedule, for example Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Summer. Some families really like this routine.
Please note: All Day Camps and Workshops automatically include one lesson per week of enrollment |

Summer Studio Lessons & Saturday Music School Options
Options A and B. If the student is not coming to camp, and you'd like to enroll in private lessons and/or lessons and group classes, there are two ways to enroll. Choose the Studio Lesson option for lessons only. Or, if you'd like the student to attend lessons and group activities, choose the Saturday Music School option.
Planning around your family travels and student availability is obviously necessary when deciding how many weeks of programming and lessons to purchase; however, we encourage you to keep in mind, during the summer months students are eligible (even encouraged) to use the freedom in their schedules to take more than one lesson per week as available, if desired. This can be a great way for a student to tackle a new technique or develop new habits under close supervision. We call this Jump Start. The student jumps headlong into new materials or gets a boost from back to back interaction with the private teacher.
Please note: Private lessons are included in all Day Camps for Kids
