Franz Schubert – Four Impromptus D. 935 (Opus Posth. 142)

Written by

Franz Schubert – Four Impromptus D. 935 (Opus Posth. 142)

Schubert, unlike other composers like Liszt for example, was not a virtuoso pianist. He would rather perform in small gatherings with friends than actually play in recitals.  The piano pieces he composed were mainly amateur pieces.  His major achievements are his piano pieces and chamber music works. This set of Impromptus were only published in 1839, eleven years after the composer’s death.
