Open Studio Membership provides access to CMC Atlanta practice space for individuals, duets and limited small ensembles during off peak weekday and weekend hours.  

Open Studio Membership is ideal for a musician who does not have a viable option for practicing at home or anywhere else.  For many musicians living in dense city neighborhoods, Open Studio Membership is a more economical option than renting a free-standing home, spending large sums of money on sound proofing, or trying to find an hourly rental option in a recording studio or other facility.  

Open Studio Membership includes:    

• Use of CMC Atlanta studio space-- comfortable rooms with windows, and many with upright or even baby grand pianos, off peak weekday and weekend hours
• Optional participation in CMC Atlanta or Open Studio Members only recitals and showcases
• Potential access to discounted rates on private coaching or group classes, if interested 
• Potential opportunity to meet other musicians for collaboration or socializing

Memberships are divided into two categories: Monthly and Guest.  Monthly Memberships provide ongoing access on a month to month basis.  Gust Memberships allow for a one time visit or more than a single visit in a less than one month time period.  When comparing options, you'll see the hourly rate for Monthly Membership is greatly reduced from the standard hourly rate for one off visit or a short term Guest Membership.         

Monthly Memberships

Monthly Members can choose from among different Levels, as follows:

• Level 1: visit once a week for an hour or two, starts at $150/month
• Level 2: visit up to 5 hours per week, starts at $300/month
• Level 3: visit 5 to 10 hours per week, starts at $360
• Level 4: visit 10-20 hours per week, starts at $420 
• Level 5: visit more than 20 hours per week, TBD

Monthly Members can choose a Fixed or a Flex schedule.  Fixed schedules are set by the month; Flex schedules are set on an ongoing basis by the member reserving a room online month by month, week by week or even day by day, on a first come/first served basis. 

Guest Memberships 

We offer Guest Passes and Short Term Memberships on a case by base basis.  provide the opportunity for a one time visit or to use a CMC Atlanta Studio for several visits in a period less than a month long.  One time visits start at $60/hour.  Short Term Guest Memberships are offered at a discounted hourly rate, depending on day, time and number of visits.      

Other Information 

Open Studio memberships are designed first to serve individual instrumentalists and vocalists.  It is also easier for us to accommodate acoustic musicians, whether soloists, duets, trios or quartets, etc. There are limited but available options for amplified bands or combos.  Each application is processed with an eye toward finding a workable option on the schedule.              

Please note:  schedule and requested equipment will affect the Monthly and Guest Member rate.  Once you complete an application, we will provide a quote based on your preferences.  Rates are subject to change with thirty days notice.  

Monthly Membership fees are due on the 15th of the month for the following calendar month.  Credit or debit card autodraft is required. Guest and Short Term Membership fees are paid in advance online via credit card.  All credit card transactions include a 3.5% processing fee.  

Studio Members are not permitted to use the studios to teach lessons.  If you are interested in teaching lessons in a CMC Atlanta location we are happy to explore options for you to join our faculty as an employee or adjunct contractor.
