Every spring since 2009, CMC Atlanta students have had the exciting opportunity to sing and play on the Main Stage of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park. We're taking the stage again this year on Sunday, April 9. Please join us!
Student performers should meet us at the Main Stage at 10:30 am. The students will sign in at the entrance to the backstage gate, and then gather with faculty and fellow students backstage in the performers only area.
PLEASE NOTE: the 2017 Main Stage will be where it was in 2016, but that not exactly where it was for many years prior. The stage is between 10th Street and Lake Clara Meer. If you come into the park at 10th and Charles Allen, follow the Charles Allen path. Instead of the stage being off to your right (above the meadows), the stage will be by the path that veers to the left at the bottom of Oak Hill, above the lake. If you come in along 10th near Argonne or Myrtle, just come down the hill toward the lake. You can also come in via Piedmont Rd, at the 12th Street gate. If you come in there, veer to the right of Lake Clara Meer, toward Oak Hill.

All elementary and junior high students performing in the large ensemble acts (i.e., songs and drumming with AMP and Core Program peers) will be required to wear our festival tshirt, which we'll distribute Sunday at the park. T-shirts are $15 for all students performers and any parents, friends or family who might want one. We'd love to have you sign up your student so we know to get you a t-shirt. But even if you haven't signed up, come anyway- we always buy plenty of extras. (That'd be a dumb reason to miss all the fun.)
Junior high and senior high jazz and rock bands can wear clothing that fits their act-- within reason. Shorts are generally a bad idea. Basically, you want to wear something that will help you pop on a big, dark festival stage. If you're concerned, check in with Diana, Cain or Phil.
