Conservatory for Kids camps are suitable for both beginners and more advanced students.  Depending on the student's background, the camps introduce or deepen a student's familiarity with a musical style or tradition.During the camps, each student meets one-on-one or in small groups with a primary studio instructor for a 30- to 45-minute lesson on an instrument of choice or for vocal coaching.  Students sing, drum, and also study notation, theory, and composition or song-writing through creatively designed and fun hands on classes, activities, and projects.  Arts and crafts activities focus on music-related art and building primitive instruments reflective of the style or tradition.   Faculty and guest performers also entertain and dazzle campers.  Like all Conservatory for Kids camps, the American Roots & Folk Music Camp will include ample break time and work on camp projects outdoors around and nearby the Center to meet the developmental needs of the enrolled children.
