Under the guidance of the CMC Faculty, campers will spend two weeks singing, acting, writing, editing, directing, making costumes, and creating sets. It's a great deal of fun and hard work preparing for an informal Workshop Production of scenes from kid's favorite musicals by the end of camp. Scenes will be chosen to accommodate the skills and interests of specific campers who attend.
Summer 2013, we're going Around the World; possibilities include scenes from:
Campers spend the mornings and late afternoons learning parts and preparing the Workshop Production. Students are guided through every aspect of the production and also study the basics of performance (music and acting) in small group vocal coaching sessions with faculty. During the mid afternoon break, students will take up summertime favorites, like playing kickball or frisbee with Center faculty and counselors in the park, heading to the ice cream shop, or just drawing in the local scene. A set of rehearsals and group activities mid-to-late afternoon will round off the day.

Summer music school with a Hogwart's twist. Young wizards study notation, harmony, rhythm, and take lessons on their instrument of choice. We design musical activities to reflect aspects and elements of the beloved Harry Potter series.
We start by sending each enrolled student a stylized invitation, just like the one Harry and friends received inviting them to Hogwart's. Then during the two week Wizard's Music Camp, magic wands become conducting batons, spells and incantations vehicles for studying rhythm and rhythmic notation. We fill bottles and wine glasses with potions to study the basic acoustics of musical pitch. Students also practice and then perform songs from the film score at the Camp Showcase. Beginners and experienced students welcome. Curriculum adjusted to meet individual background and goals. It's a playful approach to learning and developing musical skills.
